Who We Are

Our Board

Many dedicated team members and integral leaders support our mission on campus. Our board meets multiple times each week to plan programming, manage the budget, and vote on key decisions, ensuring Newman runs smoothly and the Spirit empowers all members.

In addition to the board members shown here, many faithful and dedicated individuals serve behind the scenes to ensure our organization runs efficiently. Though we can’t list everyone on the website, each contribution is integral to our shared mission.

We invite you to explore our board members below and encourage you to reach out to any of them individually with questions or concerns.

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

Hello,
I am a premed, double major in biology and history, currently pursuing honors in the History Department. I’ve lived in California my entire life before coming to Oberlin.
I was baptized in and grew up attending the Catholic Community at Stanford University. I resumed regular Mass attendance during my freshman year, and the Newman community has been a warm, welcoming environment ever since.
No matter your faith or how Catholic you consider yourself, I am so excited to meet you at Oberlin
Newman!
Please feel free to reach out to me any time!

What’s your major?

Music Performance — Classical Voice

Where are you from?

 Los Angeles, CA

Where’s your favorite spot on campus?

I love to sit on the benches near the Finney Chapel Koi pond. It is so relaxing to sit there at night while listening to the Organist play inside.

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

Hello!
I am the cantor and treasurer for Newman.
I’m a classical voice major, and I’ve always loved singing. My mom taught me to sing in church as a kid, and music has really helped me stay connected to my faith throughout my life.
Oberlin Newman has definitely helped me become more connected to my faith, and I hope it is as welcoming and positive an environment for everyone as it is for me!

What’s your major?

Music Performance — clarinet

Where are you from?

Orlando, FL

Where’s your favorite spot on campus?

The Conservatory!

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

I am a fourth-year student, studying clarinet performance, with a minor in musicology and a concentration in business. I am passionate about using the arts to build meaningful human connections and have grown interested in higher education and arts administration alongside performance. My liberal arts education has allowed me to explore these paths while developing a broader understanding of the music and education worlds.

My time at Oberlin has also been central to my personal and faith journey. After a period of reflection and growth, I was confirmed into the Catholic Church in May 2025, an experience that has profoundly shaped my values, sense of purpose, and commitment to service. I am driven to provide strong arts education, support others in reaching their goals, and lead with compassion, curiosity, and care.

Please reach out at any time if you have any questions or would like to talk!

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

Hello,

We are the unofficial “Mom and Dad” of Oberlin Newman. We host the organizations’ Newman nights, lead confirmation classes for students who want to join the Catholic faith, and act as spiritual guides for students during their time at Oberlin.

Please reach out at any time — we love to get coffee, chat, and host!
